Facebook Games - Adding Players
Pirates, Vampires, Space Wars, Street Racing, Dragon Wars, Fashion Wars, Heroes & Villains (does not include Mafia Wars)
As an example, we’ll use Pirates and Pete the Pirate. What you do is go to the blue coloured game name Pete the Pirate and click on it. Find the larger version of Pete the Pirate and click on it. The players Facebook Find a friend screen will pop up and give you some idea about the real person playing. If you get bounced to your Facebook home screen that player chooses not to be identified. That’s their choice and they have that right.
You might want to set up a group called Pirates in you Facebook Friends section called Make A List so you don’t get confused about who your new friend is. Now click on the Add a Friend option and click the add to list for Pirates. Also add a personal message. You use what you feel is right for you. Mine is “Pirates - looking for another player for your crew?” Short, polite and welcoming. My mom would be proud and it’s OK to talk to strangers at your age. Mom did that to protect you when you were a lot younger.
Street Racing has just added a much better interface for adding players. All the players that are in your friends list that are not on you team are listed with their levels and you can choose to race them or invite them as crew. I think inviting them as crew would make more sense.
It always makes me wonder with what is going on in Zynga. They come up with good ideas in one game and don’t incorporate them into all of their games. The interfaces are becoming difficult to manoeuvre through because they are inconsistent. It is as if each game is developed in a separate country with no interaction between the design teams. And now they have created a site which makes it impossible to communicate with them. They never have responded to an email so I guess they need to learn something about customer service. The game market is getting more competitive and the player will ultimately decide which games they will play.
Warlords, Drinking Games, School of Magic, Kung-fu Legends, Age of Chivalry, Twilight of Dragons & The “Blood” Series of Games, also Castle Age
For the example, we’ll use Warlords here and note that the real name of the player appears. Select a likely candidate’s name on the left hand side of the list of players you might take on in Battle. The players Facebook Find a friend screen will pop up and give you some idea about the real person playing. If you get bounced to your Facebook home screen that player chooses not to be identified. That’s their choice and they have that right.
You might want to set up a group called Warlords in your Facebook Friends section called Make A List so you don’t get confused about who your new friend is. Mine is “Warlords- looking for another player for your horde?”
Finding Active Players
Check their status page to see what games they are playing and invite them specifically to the game. A short and pleasant note will help.
