TW - Observations 1

I think it’s up to 10 or 12 invitations that I have quickly “dismissed” like you dismiss a player that doesn’t fit into the plans of the tribe. Might have been a good thing to do to me much earlier but I followed the plans of the tribe for a very long time.

Tex, a former tribe mate, just sent me a message that he needed iron bad in a nearby village and he had clay or wood to offer. I asked is 200K enough. Next day, he joked about his warehouse being all jammed up. I joked back about what warehouse can I jam up next. No need to send anything in return. We traded all the time. It mostly went what do you need.

This game had a bad habit of not making itself available. It seems that if you wrote a long message to someone, it would find that that was the time that the server was not available and your conversation would be lost. It did it several times to me. So now you would have to start all over like I am trying to do with Ernesto. Not to play in the game, but to understand each other better and to move on our separate ways in the real world.

Ollie, sent me a very personal poem that he wrote to a friend that will appear in Stuff456 shortly. It’s very refreshing to see how bright a 17 year old can be. I still am amazed as to how he has dealt with his Dyslexia. I think that is one of the true marvels of the Internet in that it allows the so-called handicapped to play on equal terms. I use WebMD to help me with my ignorance of the stuff that can go in the human body.

I went to the hockey game last night with a friend and we discussed the times in our youth when we played over dinner. It was about road hockey but you could easily replace the stick and ball with a soccer ball, a homemade cricket bat and tennis ball (did that in Barbados once) or a baseball bat, glove and ball. The spirit would be the same.

The story is called “You wanna’ play in or out? ” My friends tell me it captures the way they played very well.

We ended up finally going to the game in the 3rd period. The dinner talk was more interesting. The home team lost as usual.
