Tribal Wars - Village

where can i find advice on how to build a village in tribal wars

This was an interesting search request that I decided to address as I see it, as a new player to the game. It is a matter of taste and that’s what makes this game so interesting. There are a lot of ways to go about this.

It also depends at what stage of development your tribe is at. Once you get to more than one village, you can start looking at specialized villages–all offensive, all defensive, trade centre.

Take some of this into mind and build the village the way you and your tribe are most comfortable with. If you are new to the game, don’t try and start your own tribe. Join up with somebody that looks like they have a clue about the game. Past experience is important but exposure to similar games will also be helpful in the game. Ask your experienced tribe mates for advice.

Keep the building queue occupied at all times and build troops all the time, as well.

The Statue
You can’t build a Paladin without it. Build it first and the Paladin as soon as you can. You can only have one Paladin in the game. Use your Paladin with spears to farm early in the game. The Paladin has the highest Haul rate in the game.

The Farm & Warehouse
Very important because you can’t grow your population without an adequate level. Try to stay well ahead of your immediate needs. You will be battling with the balance of Farm level and Warehouse level so keep an eye on your future needs. As you grow the time and cost increases for each level build for all buildings until completed.

The three resources
I think the simplest way to determine which one is next, is the one you keep running out of first. Farming is the best way to get resources but you can’t rely on it exclusively especially if the game takes any attack breaks as it did in ours around Christmas and New Years.

The Barracks
You can’t farm without troops and you can’t fight or defend well without them so this is a high priority. Spears are defensive and the best foot farmers. Use them to farm locally especially early in the game. Swords are defensive. Axemen are offensive. If you choose to be aggressive early in the game, then you need a lot of Axemen.

The Stable
Light Calvary are superior farmers and offensive. Once you can research these in the Smithy, I like to farm further afield with 1 Scout and 25 Light Calvary. The Scout will tell you what you left behind and the status of the village you attacked. You can then do the calculation as to how many troops you need to send back, if any.

Farm Barbarians whenever possible in this manner. You will need a raiding party to farm opponents. Axemen and Spears early on and Axemen and Light Calvary, and then add Rams much later to knock down their walls.

The Market
Early in the game, it is a good way to swap excess resources for short supply resources. Try discounting on small amounts if the market shows a particularly high demand for one specific resource (90 to 95/100). It adds up. But there is no need to upgrade it early on. Other buildings are more important at this time.

Walls
Provide basic defence and improve the defence of troops in that village. It is your first line of defence so build whenever possible.

Smithy
Build it up enough to get Light Calvary initially. LC’s  are considered the best all round troops in the game by many players.

Rally Point
It is required to coordinate attacks. It is mandatory.

Hiding Place
It isn’t that necessary but it’s cheap so you could build it up as long as it doesn’t get expensive and time consuming.

Workshop
You can’t research rams or cats until the other building requirements are met. Hold off building the workshop until you get the other buildings up there.

Village Headquarters
Different building requirements are dependent on its level so get accustomed to looking at the building help files when you are viewing this building. Get acquainted with the different requirements of each troop unit and building and gauge your construction accordingly.

Consult with your tribe mates on their plans and adjust your building strategy accordingly.
