Online Gaming - Making the World a Lot Smaller
The game is Tribal Wars. To date over 400,000 players have joined. We play in World 28 (29 and 30 have just been announced with new improvements). Some of us will probably team together in one of these worlds.
You don’t play this game in total isolation like some other online games. The game requires team strategy, team discussion, chat discussion between one team member and another. It demands calculated strategical thinking on your next move. You rely on the experience of other players who have played before (even if you are 3 times older than they are).
You don’t have to tell them that. You can remain somewhat anonymous because you log on with a pseudonym— pen name or alias, if you like.
Our team leader (I’ll call him The Kid), captains the team forum and placed a topic that would allow the players to introduce themselves to the rest of the tribe. Not everyone responded. We come from different countries.

We all have one common task at hand. We all wage war together.
It’s too bad all our wars could not be fought this way. The only casualty here is probably some time well wasted.
