Telemarketing - Who Buys Stuff That Way?
Telemarketing - Who Buys Stuff That Way?
It’s Thursday night and the telephone is alive with the usual number of those most unwelcome calls from telemarketers.
I just let the answering machine take care of them in the manner that they justly warrant.
Some are just taped messages thinking that you will actually listen long enough to handle their instructions. Do they originate somewhere in the middle of a third-world country or the back room of some criminal syndicate?
Thesaurus.com doesn’t even acknowledge their existence.
No results found for telemarketing:
AskAWord.com gives it more recognition than I think they deserve. Look it up for yourself if you wish to waste a lot of your valuable time.
The short part I will share is their definition.
The business of selling products or services by making unsolicited telephone calls to potential customers.
I suggest it would be more correct if it read this way.
The annoying attempt of trying to sell unwanted products or services by making unwelcome telephone calls to awfully irritated prospects.Their approach, I assume, is that if you throw enough stuff against the wall then some of it will stick. Of course, there is an appropriate way of dealing with their uninvited interruption.
Just hang up.
You have a nice day.
