The U. S. Government Should Promote Cuba
The U. S. Government to promote Cuba?
The world economy is wounded, the U.S. government is spending train loads of money on the Iraqi war, Cuba’ stuck in the 1950’s and nothings moving forward.
Here’s a thought. Try to go back to the studies you took of economic theory and remember the simple formula that you thought you’d never use again.
C + I + G = GNPFor those that didn’t study economics, C is consumer spending, I is Investment, G is government spending and GNP is the gross national product. Think of the GNP as the overall economy.
Well, there isn’t much C right now and I is just as weak and G seems be directed at places where there’s no sign of any return. So the end result is GNP is steadily declining.
So, lets’ get the U.S. government to take the money that they are wasting on yet another “police action” in Iraq, and spend it on a program that would create investment in Cuba by the world marketplace. Now G wouldn’t have to change much, and I would grow which would put people back to work and C would grow. So the end result, is that the trend for GNP would turn back up instead of dropping like a stone as it is now. And it doesn’t have to be Cuba. I just did that to get your attention. Pick something worthwhile, like public transportation, farming, education, training, the environment.
Do you think it could work? Nah, its just too simple and too good of an idea. Governments don’t think that way.
