What is Soul?
What is Soul?
I’m not talking about the religious definition, I mean it more in the emotional or worldly context. Are you extra passionate about something or somebody? Do you inspire others?
It’s not just limited to the music performers that I saw when I was growing up. Maybe if I cited a few examples of people that I think have soul then maybe that would help explain it better.
- James Brown
- Gladys Knight
- Tina Turner
- Phil Collins
- Aretha Franklin
- James Earl Jones
- Patti Labelle
- Martin Luther King, Jr.
- Darrell Waltrip
- John Madden
- Mike Singletary
- Robin Williams
- Tim Allen
- Ray Charles
- Tom Clancy
- Firemen, Policemen, Armed Forces Personnel (male and female)
And some that don’t.
- Adolf Hitler
- Saddam Hussein
- a lot of highly paid professional athletes
- a lot of actors/actresses that are the subject of the night on ET
- telemarketing operations
Does that explain it any better? I think Soul means you leave an everlasting and super positive impression on the people you talk to.
I’m working on it. Most of these names have got a big start on me.
Strange, isn’t it, that it’s easier to remember the names of those that have instead of those that don’t. There’s not enough room here for all the names that qualify.
