Oh How The Memories Fade
Oh How The Memories Fade
My high school football days were the best. I just wish I was a better player. I learned so much about what it was like to be a member of a team. We didn’t play the game to win. It was for fun.
It taught me how to deal with pain. It introduced me to the hospital–broken leg, ruptured kidney, cracked wrist, numerous sprains and, luckily, only one concussion.
The team parties helped me break out of my adolescent shyness with the assist of uncontrolled use of adult beverages. I gained confidence with the opposite sex. I learned to share. I learned to win with pride. I learned to lose with grace. I learned respect.
I’d do it all over again in a heartbeat. Where do I sign, Lucifer?
Ruptured kidney? Woah!
Memories are meant to be cherished. The best time I had was in my early part of college life with friends.
We would always go out for a lot of trips to explore the place as we were new here.
Now I’m in my final year and I’ll be graduating in a few months;.
After that, all of us will go our separate ways.
